A picture of me taken inside the main hall of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia in February 2008My name is Eyal (pronounced "Ale," like the beer) Goldshmid. (That's me on the right.) I have been writing professionally, both in staff and freelance positions, for more than a decade and currently pen a weekly column for the Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers. In addition, I've written features for several newspapers and magazines, including the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Orlando Sentinel, Over Time Magazine, Parenting Teens Network, GRAND Magazine and more.

Web-wise, I've created content on a variety of subjects for websites like Citysearch.com (where I covered subjects like tourism, arts and entertainment, restaurant and food and sports) and TheSlant.com (as the site's theater and film reviewer). I have also helped design, develop and manage content for TCPalm.com and OrlandoSentinel.com.

I have several years of public relations and marketing writing experience, and over the years I've managed to produce copy for everyone from restaurants to teachers to insurance sites, to name a few. Visit my Samples to see some of my writing examples.

Creatively, I have published poetry and short-fiction in a variety of literary journals and have written three novels (sadly, still unpublished -- but I'm working on it). I'm an enormous movie buff as well and will spend hours discussing the symbolic minutia of Bergman's Cries and Whispers, if anyone's game.
